In 2024, Old Dominion University’s Student Enrollment, Engagement & Services (SEES) team was interested in creating a podcast for prospective students and families looking into university life. As part of the Enrollment Marketing team, I suggested ideas for episodes, contacted guests for recording sessions, recorded episodes (both in-person and over Zoom) and personally edited the episodes for a bi-weekly release for the first two seasons between the summer of 2024 and spring of 2025.
The podcast, “Monarch Minutes”, featured guests from across ODU and other universities within Virginia. Topics provided advice to prospective students and families on all aspects of college life. From housing, to financial aid, to ODU traditions and more, each episode offered easily digestible content delivered in a relaxed and conversational style. Episodes were edited via Alitu and gave me the chance to learn audio editing and demonstrate my attention for detail when adjusting the raw recordings. It was a great project, and I steadily improved with every release.
As of the Spring 2025 semester, the podcast was reaching hundreds of listeners, with the goal of further expanding its reach over new platforms in the future.
I was involved for all of Season 1 and Season 2 (September 10, 2024 through May 12, 2025). Episodes are available here.
